At Ciceley Commercials, we’re proud to be supporting Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity through a unique charity initiative in partnership with Daimler Truck UK.
Daimler Truck’s Demonstrator vehicle, a Mercedes-Benz Actros L 2653 ProCabin with a tag-axle specification – has been specially liveried to help raise awareness and vital funds for the charity. The truck is fully equipped with a host of premium optional extras, including customised side skirts, a catwalk, and both twin- and single-line hydraulics.
The initiative was developed by our Aftersales Manager, Calum Aitken, who originally conceived the idea while working at Daimler Truck UK.
Why Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity?
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity supports babies, children and young people receiving care at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital – the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. The charity helps fund life-changing medical equipment, pioneering research, play programmes and essential family support services, ensuring young patients receive the very best care and comfort throughout their treatment.
For Calum, the charity holds a deeply personal significance.
“My family has experienced the incredible work of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity first-hand, so we truly understand the difference it makes to children and their families during some of their most difficult times.
At just 18 months old, my nephew was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Thanks to the outstanding care provided by the hospital and NHS, alongside the invaluable support from the charity, I’m proud to say we recently celebrated five years clear.”
The partnership between Daimler Truck UK and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity has initially been agreed for six months, with the potential to extend the initiative to future demonstrator vehicles.
The truck features a bespoke charity livery, designed by Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, complete with a QR code linking directly to a dedicated JustGiving page.
As customers trial the demonstrator throughout the region, we’re encouraging participating operators to support the charity by making a donation in return for using the vehicle. We also hope that everyone who sees the truck out on the road will scan the QR code and help support this fantastic cause.
Calum added:
“By putting the vehicle out on the road and into customer operations, we’re able to raise awareness across the industry while making it easy for people to contribute and support a truly worthwhile cause.”
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to AST Signs & Graphics for generously producing the incredible charity livery free of charge, helping maximise the impact of this initiative.
If you’re interested in trialling the charity demonstrator, please speak to the team at Ciceley Commercials. Together, we can showcase the latest Mercedes-Benz Truck technology while helping make a real difference to children and families who need it most.
