Ciceley Motorsport Team
Ciceley Motorsport, formerly known as Ciceley Racing, was a proud family-run team born from the same Morgan family behind Ciceley Commercials Ltd. Led by Chairman Russell Morgan, with his son Adam Morgan as lead driver, the team competed in the British Touring Car Championship from 2011 to 2023—establishing itself as one of the grid’s most respected and competitive outfits.
Over more than a decade, Ciceley Motorsport became synonymous with consistency, determination and race-winning performance, playing a key role in Adam’s rise to becoming a multiple BTCC race winner. While the team made the difficult decision to step away from the championship in 2023, its legacy continues both on and off the track.
Today, Adam remains a leading force in the BTCC and begins an exciting new chapter with Plato Racing for the 2026 season. As the grandson of founder Brian Morgan, his journey represents a continuation of the Ciceley story—combining family heritage with a passion for performance at the very highest level of British motorsport.
Ciceley Commercials & Plato Racing – Continuing the Ciceley Motorsport Legacy
Ciceley Commercials is proud to announce its official sponsorship of Plato Racing for the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season—marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s long-standing connection with British motorsport.
At the heart of this partnership is a story built on heritage, performance and family legacy.
A Family Legacy on Track
Adam Morgan, grandson of Ciceley founder Brian Morgan—who established the business in 1973—will take to the grid as part of the Plato Racing driver line-up.
Representing the third generation of the Morgan family, Adam’s involvement is a natural continuation of the Ciceley story. From the early days of the business to competing at the very highest level of UK motorsport, the connection between Ciceley Commercials and racing has always been strong.
Ciceley Motorsport – From Family Team to BTCC Contender
Ciceley Motorsport (formerly Ciceley Racing) was a true family-run operation, led by Russell Morgan with Adam as its lead driver. Established in 2011, the team quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most respected independent teams in the BTCC.
Originally formed to support Adam’s early career, the team helped secure the 2011 Ginetta GT Supercup title—launching his progression into the BTCC in 2012.
From there, Ciceley Motorsport developed into a competitive force on the grid:
- Regular points finishes and top-10 championship results
- Multiple race wins and podiums across more than a decade
- Strong manufacturer alignment, most notably with Mercedes-Benz
The team achieved 12 BTCC race wins, 39 podiums and a host of fastest laps, firmly establishing itself as a consistent race-winning outfit.
After 11 successful seasons, the team made the difficult decision to step away from the BTCC in 2023, leaving behind a legacy as one of the UK’s standout family-run teams.
Adam Morgan – A Proven BTCC Race Winner
Adam Morgan has been a mainstay of the British Touring Car Championship since making his debut in 2012, building a reputation as one of the grid’s most consistent and competitive drivers.
His motorsport journey began in karting at a young age, progressing through junior formulas before achieving major success in the Ginetta championships—culminating in the 2011 Ginetta GT Supercup title.
Since stepping up to the BTCC, Adam has enjoyed an impressive career:
- Multiple race wins across different manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz and BMW
- A career-best championship finish of 7th overall (achieved multiple times)
- Over a decade competing at the highest level of UK touring car racing
- Widely respected for his racecraft, consistency and technical feedback
Much of his success came with Ciceley Motorsport, where he scored the majority of his race wins—particularly during the team’s competitive years running the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
Following the team’s BTCC departure, Adam continued to compete at the top level, racing with leading teams and further strengthening his reputation as a proven race winner and experienced competitor.
The Next Chapter – Plato Racing 2026
For the 2026 season, Adam joins Plato Racing alongside fellow race winner Daniel Rowbottom. Both drivers will compete in the Mercedes-AMG A35 Saloon, bringing together experience, proven performance and a shared ambition for success.
This partnership reflects Ciceley Commercials’ long-standing relationship with Mercedes-Benz, while reinforcing the company’s commitment to excellence, innovation and performance.
Looking Ahead
The 2026 BTCC season gets underway at Donington Park on 18–19 April, where Adam and the Plato Racing team will make their highly anticipated debut.
Ciceley Commercials looks forward to supporting Adam and the entire Plato Racing team throughout the season—continuing a proud motorsport legacy that spans generations.
