Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprentice

As a Heavy Vehicle Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced Technicians in our busy workshop, learning how to inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair heavy commercial vehicles to manufacturer and DVSA standards.

You will develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to become a fully qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician.

Training & Development

Your apprenticeship will include:

• Practical, on-the-job learning within the Ciceley Commercials workshop
• Online learning, workbooks and assignments
• Block release training at the Remit Training Academy
• Ongoing mentoring and support from experienced Technicians

On successful completion, you will achieve a Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing and safety inspections

• Assisting with preventative maintenance and repairs

• Learning to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment

• Repairing and replacing vehicle components

• Understanding health & safety and legal compliance in a workshop environment

• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workspace

• Completing all apprenticeship coursework and training requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a genuine interest in vehicles and how they work

• Enjoys practical, hands-on work

• Is reliable, punctual and eager to learn

• Has good communication and teamwork skills

• Demonstrates logical thinking and problem-solving ability

GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are preferred but not essential.
