Deregulation proposed for gas-fuelled trucks

The Department for Transport has proposed a change in legislation that will allow UK operators to use trucks that run on gas fuels without having to apply for special dispensation.

It wants to enable trucks powered by hydrogen, Compressed Natural Gas and Liquefied Natural Gas to be used on UK roads without additional authorisation, as long as they have been type-approved to the relevant fuel system safety and emissions standards.

“If we are to encourage the uptake of less polluting technologies, or those with lower CO2 output and global warming potential,” Transport Minister John Hayes said, “it is important that operators running cleaner vehicles do not suffer a competitive disadvantage.

Finished in Enviroclean’s eye-catching livery, these trucks won’t just deliver outstanding performance and efficiency — they’ll certainly stand out on the road too.

A major fleet upgrade and a huge milestone in what will be a 60-truck rollout. We’re proud to support Enviroclean with this exciting order and can’t wait to see the full fleet completed.

We had a great time on Thursday attending the Careers Day at Mount St Joseph High School, where we spoke to Year 9 students about the exciting opportunities available in the motor industry.

It was brilliant to chat with so many enthusiastic students, answer their questions, and give them an insight into the wide range of career paths our industry has to offer — from workshop roles and apprenticeships to office, sales and support positions.

We’re excited to have handed over three brand-new Mercedes-Benz Vito vans to @brokkuk — specialists in remote-controlled demolition robots and intelligent demolition solutions. 👏

Over the course of the collection, our teams travelled a combined 163.2 miles, completing 149 tree pick-ups across Lancashire. Every donation from the collections goes directly to East Lancs Hospice, supporting the vital care they provide to local families.

As our charity partner, East Lancashire Hospice is incredibly important to us, and we’re proud to support initiatives like this that make a real difference in our communities.
