Ciceley Motorsport returns to the track again this weekend for the launch of the British GT season.
The Ciceley Motorsport team have been incredibly busy over the last few weeks. Preparing not only for the return of BTCC at the start of this month but the start of the British GT this weekend.
This will be the first full season of the British GT that the Ciceley Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT has taken part in.
The British GT is a race series created by the British Racing Drivers’ Club in 1993 and, for its first two seasons, was known as the National Sports GT Challenge. Traditional British sportscar manufacturers have always featured heavily in the series: Lotus, TVR, Marcos, Darrian, Lister and, more recently, Chevron, Ginetta, Aston Martin, McLaren and Bentley have underlined the championship’s unique British spirit.
So, the Ciceley Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT will be in good company this weekend as the season roars into action on Sunday 23rd May at 13:20. The first 2-hour race of the season takes place on the iconic Brands Hatch full circuit.
Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing Adam Morgan on the track this weekend. Instead he will be behind the scenes supporting Jake Giddings, former British GT champion and Dave Whitmore who will be behind the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG GT.
Ciceley Motorsport Commercial Manager, Norman Burgess, is looking forward to an exciting start to the season this weekend.
“We at Ciceley Motorsport cannot wait to start our first full campaign in British GT. It is something we have wanted to do for a few years, and we are now finally here. We have a great driver pairing: Jake is a previous champion and Dave is like a sponge soaking up all the information he can and is already turning heads with his speed and consistency.
“The team are well prepared having competed in the Gulf 12 Hour and the 24 Hours of Dubai. The core of the team gives us a great starting point with Nick Hancox as Team Engineer, Dave Hudson No1 mechanic and Adam Morgan assisting both drivers with data and video interpretation. We have a proven track record with our pace at these events and will carry this forward into British GT.”
