External Communications and Events Coordinator

Location: Blackburn (travel to other Ciceley sites and event locations across the North West up to central Scotland will be required)
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hrs per week
Salary: Competitive

This is a varied and hands-on role responsible for managing external communications, enhancing brand visibility and delivering engaging, professionally executed events. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting and promoting Ciceley’s reputation, whilst ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging across all external channels.

PR & Communications

• Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, news stories, and company announcements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional and industry media contacts
• Identify and secure PR opportunities to promote Ciceley Commercials, its services, and key initiatives
• Create engaging written content for external use, including:
  • Website updates
  • Customer communications
  • Case studies and customer success stories
• Work closely with internal teams to gather content and success stories
• Ensure consistency of messaging across all external platforms and communications
• Collaborate with the Marketing Executive to align PR, customer communications and social media activity.
• Ensure all external communications align with brand guidelines and tone of voice
• Monitor media coverage and external engagement across channels
• Track and evaluate PR performance, providing regular insight reports
• Provide regular reports on communications

Events

• Plan, coordinate and deliver a range of events including:
  • Customer hospitality events
  • Product launches and open days
  • Trade shows and exhibitions (e.g. Truckfest)
  • Corporate and charity events
  • Networking events
• Manage all event logistics, including venues, suppliers, guest lists and materials
• Coordinate internal teams to ensure smooth event delivery
• Support event set-up and attend events as required, including occasional out-of-hours work
• Evaluate event performance and provide post-event reporting
• Identify opportunities for improvement based on insight and feedback

Essential Criteria

• Minimum of one year’s experience in PR and communications
• Minimum of one year’s experience in event coordination
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and project management abilities
• Creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh ideas
• Confident and professional communicator
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Hard working with the ability to work under pressure
• Flexible and adaptable, especially during events
• Enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated approach
• Positive team player with the ability to work independently
• Able to work on own initiative
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable Criteria

• Experience within the automotive or commercial vehicle sector
