Mercedes-Benz Vehicle Workshop Controller

Ciceley Commercials is looking for the right person to join their Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle franchised business as a Vehicle Workshop Controller  at our Bolton dealership.

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual with previous experience in a similar automotive role. You must be prepared to go above and beyond for a customer in a quick paced environment.

The main duties will include:

· Supervising the flow of work for the Service team into the workshop and allocating work as required making sure required customer deadlines are met.

· Keeping customers fully and regularly informed of any changes to costs and expected completion times/dates.

· Ensuring that job extensions are properly authorised and processed.

· Ensuring that vehicles are properly handed over to customers, including invoice explanation and advising future requirements.

· Taking responsibility for subcontracted repairs and ensure the quality of such.

· Ensuring that the authorisation of warranty and goodwill is given strictly in accordance with the manufacturers programme.

· Carrying out regular performance assessments of team members, monitoring and enforcing time control of team members.

Essential Criteria

· Practical experience in an After Sales environment

· Knowledge of the function of all vehicle controls and systems for each model.

· Ability to recognise and name all major components, their approximate location and function.

· Ability to carry out basic fault diagnosis based on customer description, vehicle inspection or road test.

· Ability to estimate accurately times for diagnosis and repair.

· Ability to determine condition of safety related parts i.e. tyres, brake pads, and wiper blades.

· Basic computer skills

· Numerate

· Hard working with the ability to work under pressure

· Enthusiastic and dedicated approach to work

· Organised work ethic

· Safe and responsible work manner

· Customer focused

· Reliable and punctual

· Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable Criteria

· Previous Commercial Vehicle experience

· Previous Mercedes-Benz experience

· HGV licence
