Mercedes-Benz Vans UK Ltd hosted the final in a trilogy of “60 Minutes with X” on Friday (26 January 2018); a spectacular series of events, which after stops in Berlin and Paris, culminated in London.
Under the tagline “Pickup meets Lifestyle”, more than 2,300 invited guests in all in three impressive locations experienced unique shows featuring well-known musicians, each ending after exactly 60 minutes.
At the centre of each event was the pickup from Mercedes-Benz: the brand-new X-Class. It combines the typical characteristics of a pickup – robustness, functionality, resilience and off-road capabilities – with the classical strengths of a true Mercedes – design, comfort, driving dynamics and safety. Its high level of functionality was also apparent as an event installation, bathed in changing light projections, integrated into the stage, as a practical helper at the bar with its bed filled with ice, and as a DJ console.
The X-Class brought together music, art and lifestyle at the last event of the series as well. Together with British rappers and MCs Tinie Tempah and Yungen, over 1,000 guests raised the roof of the Printworks – at one time the largest printing plant in Europe and now repurposed as an event location.
When the last second of the countdown expired, a unique party series came to an end after 180 minutes in all, and marked the end of the launch period for the Mercedes-Benz X-Class.
