Ciceley Commercials Ltd Covid-19 Update

At Ciceley Commercials Ltd, we have been working hard to react proactively to the government guidelines. Many of our customers are providing a pivotal service to the public and we are doing everything possible to support these key businesses, whilst protecting the health of both staff and customers.

We have implemented a number of changes around the business to help protect our staff and our customers. Below you will find an update for each area of the business along with key contact details in case you need them.

Service

All of our workshops remain open and functioning as normally as possible. We are operating a split shift with the number of technicians in the business at any one time reduced. So far, we have not had any real problems with availability, and we are proud to still be accommodating all customers’ needs at the right time however, we are of course prioritising emergency vehicles, home delivery vehicles and other key workers.

Where many MOT stations have now closed, we are still able to carry out van MOTs in-house at Blackburn and Bolton. This is to support those who wish to remain on schedule rather than taking the government extension option.

Any vehicle that has been into the workshop will have all contact areas cleansed before customer collection.

We have invested heavily in Perspex screens which have been professionally fitted to all of our Service reception desks. This allows us to communicate safely with customers and maintain all social distancing measures when dropping and collecting vehicles. 

There has been no change to our 24hr Roadside Assistance service. We are still providing a 24-hour, 365 day service with an average attendance time of currently just 45 minutes and a Roadside Fix Rate of 90%. Our 24hr technicians are wearing clean gloves for every job, maintaining a 2m distance from drivers and wiping down the key touch points of the vehicle before customers get on their way.

Parts

Our parts departments, like service remain open with new Perspex screens installed and social distancing practices in place. We are very lucky that we are already industry leading in terms of supply availability. Mercedes-Benz has been increasing their stock levels over the last 12 months in preparation for any short-term impact Brexit may have and so we have no immediate concerns over the availability of parts. The Mercedes-Benz first time pick rate of parts has improved even further over the last few weeks to over 92%. At Ciceley Commercials Ltd, we have always held more stock on site than any other dealer so we are confident that we can continue to provide a prompt delivery of parts for a considerable time. Sales

As soon as the government announced the lockdown, we immediately closed our showrooms in line with their advice. This is having very little impact on us being able to support the needs of our customers.   For many years we have been supplying new and used vehicles to customers all over the UK. We can complete deals remotely and where required we can use video technology to communicate and demonstrate a vehicle. We are supporting customers who have seen an increase in demand for their business who need additional vehicles to support their customers. We continue to have a good range of new and used vans in stock and can provide a quick turnaround.

We have been busy preparing our showrooms for when we can reopen them, to ensure social distancing can be maintained. Professionally fitted Perspex screens have been installed to every customer facing desk to help all customers and staff stay safe. 

Over the last few weeks we have supplied vans to the NHS, MoD, local milk delivery companies, bakers and a well-known high street name for their home delivery fleet.

We have worked hard to put over 400 decommissioned Sainsbury’s vehicles back on the road to allow Sainsbury’s to increase their home delivery capacity.

We also have a number of ready to work Mercedes-Benz Trucks and FUSO Canters in stock, ready to drive away and the same ability to sell remotely across the country applies as it does for van.

We have a strong team of delivery drivers who have been working incredibly hard over the last few weeks, making sure customers receive their vehicles quickly and safely.

No one can say how long it will be until we can return to some form of normality, or what the new normal will be but you can rely on Ciceley to support you with any commercial vehicle requirements that you may have during this time. We are immensely proud of our Ciceley team and the way in which they are rising to the daily challenges we are facing, adapting quickly to the changes that we are implementing.
