CPC Driver Training

The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) has become a legal requirement for everyone operating a HGV or an LGV vehicle over 3.5 tonnes from September 2009.

Drivers must undertake 35 hours of training every five years in order to meet the CPC requirement.  The training must consist of approved courses and Ciceley Commercials are proud to be able to offer these courses delivered by Mercedes-Benz expert trainers.

CPC Driver Training is a service suitable for all, no matter what vehicle you drive.  So, whether you are a driver or a fleet manager, our team can offer the assistance and expertise to help you meet the requirements of this new legislation.

Truck Technology and Safety

A review of vehicle technology looking at modern engines, transmissions, brakes and controls.  The focus is especially on the latest environmental and safety features to help protect you, your truck and the surrounding world.

Economical Driving

This course covers use of momentum, economical braking, intelligent use of torque and how anticipation and reaction times can be improved.  All this results in less fuel consumption, less wear and tear on the vehicle and less strain on you.  The theory is then put into practice behind the wheel.

Driving Safety

Designed to make you more fully aware of the capabilities of your vehicle,
This course looks at how to avoid dangerous situations and how to cope if one arises.  It also covers accident procedure and how to maintain driver energy levels and alertness.

The Drivers day – Legal & Social Legislation


This course provides reminders on the mass of legislation surrounding the operation of goods vehicles, both current and future, from tachoghraphs and smuggling, to delivery notes and industrial safety.

Load Securing


Loading your vehicle correctly is important for the health and safety of people working around the vehicle and to avoid breaking the law.  This course covers specific loading requirements including safe lifting, load distribution, securing methods and legal penalties.

The Professional Driver


The aim of this course is to provide advise on how to drive responsibly in a working environment to improve the safety of yourself, your colleagues and your customers.  Should the worst happen, it also covers emergencies and driver responsibilities.

The Economical Driving Experience


For effective learning you can’t beat behind the wheel tuition.  This course offers a day’s in-cab driver training with an experienced trainer. Beginning with the importance of the “vehicle walk round” you’ll then gain a full understanding of economic and defensive driving whilst operating the training vehicle.
