Travel into London? How much is the London Low Emission Zone going to cost you?

Vans, trucks, buses and minibuses must comply with the new London Emission Zone legislation changes when in London, or pay a daily charge of up to £200. Alternatively you can pay a fine of up to £1,000.

Get into the right lane by 3 January 2012.

Do you own a vehicle which is 1.205 tonnes unladen – 3.5 tonnes GVW that travels into London?
Do you want to save yourself up to £400 a trip?

From the 3rd January 2012 more vehicle types will come under the jurisdiction of the London Low Emission Zone, and if your van, truck, bus or minibus comes into the newly expanded categories you will need to pay a daily fee of £100 or £200 to drive into London.

In fact if you drive in at 11.50pm and drive out 30 minutes later at 12.20am that will count as two days and cost you £200 or £400 depending on the non-compliant vehicle you drive.

Failure to pay the charge results in a fine of £500 for a van or £1,000 for a truck.

If you are unsure as to the compliance of your vehicle you can check online by visiting Transport for London website and entering your vehicles registration. Click here to check your compliance online.

Please note that if a conversion is necessary, you will need to allow a three months lead time to comply with all the relevant legal requirements. This will allow us to ensure that the relevant filters are available from stock, your Reduced Pollution Certificate (RPC) or Low Emission Certificate (LEC) has been issued and the Traffic for London Data base has been updated.

Remember, until the Traffic for London data base is updated you will need to pay the daily charge if you drive within the London Low Emission Zone.
