Ciceley Commercials Ltd was formed in May 1972 by Brian Morgan and his family and operated from the original Ciceley Lane, Blackburn site with a team consisting of just 18 employees.
In 1975 Ciceley was appointed as a sole Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle franchise for the Lancashire area. Then in 1984 Ciceley Commercials changed its name to Ciceley Ltd, which today is the holding company for all associated companies.
Ciceley as a group of companies has roots set in a successful relationship with Mercedes Benz within the Commercial vehicle network. It was because of this harmonious and fruitful partnership that in May 1985, Ciceley Continental was founded to continue and expand this liaison into the Passenger Car world.
The Ciceley Group grew rapidly between 1996 and 2002 with the acquisition of premises in Bolton (1996) Carlisle (1998) and Dumfries (2002). Each of these sites carries the Mercedes-Benz franchise.
In March 2003 due to a restructuring of the Mercedes Benz UK Passenger Car dealers we found ourselves without either a Sales, or After sales franchise. Finding ourselves with the premises, equipment and skill base we successfully Reacquired Authorised Repairer status within the Mercedes Benz network.
Then in December 2003 the original Ciceley Lane facilities had become unsuitable for modern day needs. Therefore a purpose built facility was opened adjacent to the Junction 4 intersection of the M65 to accommodate Ciceley Commercials Ltd. This allowed the Ciceley Lane premises to be refurbished as Head Office for the Ciceley Group.
Following the Sale of our Preston location in July 2009 we would like to thank our valued Passenger Car and Van customers who have used our Preston site over the many years we have traded. We are sure that our move to the Blackburn site literally just off Junction 4 of the M65 will offer a more convenient and full Service facility for all your Commercial Vehicle needs. Unfortunately as the site is specifically designed and built for Commercial Vehicles we can no longer offer an Authorised Repairer facility for Passenger Cars.
Today, the group boasts a staff of 200 well-trained individuals, dedicated to courteous and efficient customer service, helping to ensure that the growth enjoyed in the past continues for many, many years.
